Role description
- Work in the EM and thermal design of traction electric motors for different EVs
- Produce innovative design solutions to meet the performance requirements
- Run cost, weight and efficiency-based optimizations
- Process testing data coming from rigs to correlate previous designs
- Liaise with suppliers of materials and components
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
- 2D/3D FEA skills applied to electrical machines (electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical)
- Demonstrable knowledge of electrical machines theory and principles
- Understanding of electric motor control strategies
- Basics of power electronics and controllers
- Python, Matlab scripting experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical tolerances
- Stator and rotor cooling designs and strategies
- Solid know-how of state-of-the-art materials (steel laminations, insulation, conductors, magnets, compounds, varnishes, adhesives, etc.)
- Knowledge of IEC and ISO applicable standards
