Jonathan Krane is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of KraneShares, a $16 Billion asset management firm delivering China-focused exchange traded funds to global investors listed on the NYSE, and the founder of SilkEV, an international company specializing in automotive engineering and design. KraneShares focuses on providing expert access and products for investors to gain exposure to China’s capital markets. KraneShares sold a majority interest in the company to CICC, a leading investment bank in China. Jonathan has spent the last twenty years working with companies in China.
He previously founded a leading media and entertainment company in China that was sold to a publicly traded multi-national corporation.
Jonathan received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Connecticut College. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization.
Mrs. Katia Bassi, recently included by Forbes Italy among the 100 most successful women, joined Silk-FAW at its early stages and was appointed General Manager on Sep. 1st, 2021.
She had left Automobili Lamborghini after almost 5 years of achievements, where she held the positions of Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and Board Member–the first woman ever to join the Lamborghini board.
Furthermore, her experiences in the automotive industry include other prestigious companies such as Aston Martin and Ferrari.
However, she also collected experiences in the sports sector, at Inter Milan soccer club, known as “Inter” for short, as well as the NBA.
Mrs. Bassi holds a Bachelor of Political Science from University of Milan and a Bachelor’s in law from University of Pavia, two Master’s degrees in business from Columbia University of New York and from University Bocconi of Milan and a Master’s degree in International Law from Harvard University.
Roberto Fedeli, the engineer considered the creator of Alfa Romeo Stelvio, BMW i8 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari, has been appointed Chief Technology & Innovation Officer and member of the executive team at Silk-FAW.
Fedeli began his career in Maranello. During the following 26 years, he led the development of various models such as the 456, 355, 550 Maranello, 360 Modena, 458 Speciale, California and, above all, LaFerrari, the first hybrid in the history of the Prancing Horse. In 2014 he joined the BMW group to implement electrification technologies, but after just two years he was recalled to Italy. Mr. Fedeli joined the team of Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler, to fill the position of CTO of Maserati and Alfa Romeo. He was responsible for some highly advanced technical solutions for the Giulia and Stelvio models. For about three years he was CEO of the FCA Research Center in Turin, before returning to the Motor Valley to follow the development of the S9 hypercar and other models that will be produced in Reggio Emilia.
Engineer Carlo Della Casa has over 30 years of experience in the automotive sector and began his career at Ferrari, as head of vehicle engineering. Subsequently, in 2010, he worked for McLaren as Technical Director and Chief Technical Officer before joining Lamborghini in 2019.
Della Casa is recognized as a world-class specialist technical manager. Between 2010 and 2019, he was in charge of coordinating, among other things, the McLaren technical department, involving annual launches of prestigious, high-performance sports cars with unique features, also in terms of driving experience.
Della Casa is also a great expert in the field of R&D for hybrid sports cars and advanced technologies for lighter car bodies. The purpose of which is to guarantee best dynamism but also optimal energy efficiency, thus efficiently exploiting the autonomy of the batteries.
Giovanni Lamorte is Chief Financial Officer of Silk-FAW and has over 35 years of experience in the automotive sector, specifically in the Finance, Administration and Controlling departments of multinational groups.
Before joining the joint venture, he worked for many years as CFO and Industrial Control at Federal Mogul Italy and PMC SPA, two multinational companies in the Automotive sector.
Previously, he had a long working experience in MAGNETTO AUTOMOTIVE SpA, where he held roles such as Director of Management Control, Head of the development of new strategic projects (M&A) and Strategic Industrial Controller.
Giovanni Lamorte holds two Masters, one in Business Administration and the other in Digital Organization from S.A.A. of Turin.
Mr. Francesco De Santis has gained significant managerial experience: he has been General Manager of Business Unit, Director of Technologies, Operations Manager, Joint Venture industrial Director in various product contexts in Italy and abroad.
Before joining Silk-FAW as Vice President and Head of Program Management, he worked at the Jaguar Land Rover group UK as Strategic Consultant in the Manufacturing Engineering area.
De Santis has 30 years of experience in the automotive (OEM & first level suppliers: General Motors, Fiat, Magnetto Automotive) and aerospace (OEM: Piaggio Aero Industries) sectors, where he managed numerous strategic and operational projects.
After a degree in electrical and information engineering from the Polytechnic of Bari, he earned an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management where he is now undertaking a PhD on the topics of sustainable development and Corporate Sustainability.
Davide Montosi specialized as Controls application developer and Project Manager in a wide variety of vehicle systems controls.
He started his career in Ferrari, developing software and control systems for Maserati and the Maranello company. He then moved to the UK to join McLaren Automotive.
First as head of controls, then he became Director of Electronic Systems and Controls, defining of the roadmap for the development of electronic components.
Montosi holds a Master’s degree in computer engineering, Control Systems and Industrial Automation from the University of Pisa.
In his new role at Silk-FAW, he will be leading the development of software and electronic technologies, with a particular focus on AI, HMI, and connectivity.
